Castle nuts (or castellated nuts) are a positive locking device that is easily applied and reusable. Available in stainless steel, castellated nuts are used in conjunction with a drilled hole in the stud and a pin (usually a cotter pin). Castle nuts are ideal for high vibration applications such as fastening wheel bearings.
